Dadaist Composition No 2Summer
About This Work
Mixed‑media collage — photography, painted textures, stitching, found fragments, urban memory. „2Summer” unfolds like a feverish urban season — hot, layered, restless. The dominant orange field, punctured with metallic studs and crossed by visible stitches, feels like a piece of industrial skin: a wall, a sign, a surface that has lived through weather and time. It sets the tone for a composition that refuses smoothness.
At the center, a painted square becomes the engine of the work — a cluster of gestures, scratches, geometric traces, and chromatic noise. Around it, black‑and‑white photographs appear like archival ghosts, fragments of human presence drifting through the collage. They anchor the piece in lived reality while simultaneously destabilizing it.
Red and yellow zigzag stitches cut across the surface like scars or pathways, insisting on the handmade, the tactile, the intervention of the artist’s hand. The printed text — „Ateliere deschise București, noiembrie 2017” — acts as a temporal shard, a found timestamp repurposed into a new narrative.
„2Summer” is not a calm season. It’s a season of collisions: memory and material, image and object, past and present. A summer stitched together from fragments that shouldn’t align but somehow do — defiantly, beautifully!
