About
Viorel Florin Costea
My work investigates the shifting terrain of memory, identity, and transformation through layered visual narratives. Drawing from personal experience and collective histories, I construct pieces that invite introspection and emotional resonance. Working across mixed media — acrylic paint, found materials, digital interventions — I merge organic textures with abstract forms to evoke movement, impermanence, and the quiet instability of becoming.
Each composition unfolds as a dialogue between chaos and intention, revealing the tension between vulnerability and strength. I am guided by the subtle moments that shape us: fragments of conversation, fleeting light, the weight of silence. These ephemeral impressions become the raw material for a visual language that is both intuitive and deliberate, rooted in experimentation, disruption, and reflection.
“I experiment to stay alive in my art — creation is my way of speaking!”
Through my practice, I aim to challenge perception, provoke empathy, and create spaces for contemplation. Ultimately, my work is an invitation to pause and feel — to connect with ourselves, with others, and with the layered stories we carry.
