About This Work

A soft, sepia‑stained sadness drifts through this collage, the kind that doesn’t cry but lingers like perfume on old paper. Two women — one crowned with flowers, one hidden under the brim of a hat — appear like ghosts of forgotten conversations. Their gazes don’t meet; they live in parallel nostalgias, stitched together by stamps, fragments of advertisements, and the quiet debris of other people’s stories.
German slogans about beauty and laughter rub shoulders with English whispers of luck, sunset lovers, and half‑broken promises. Numbers float like dates you can’t quite remember. Paris stamps, Camembert seals, Cotton Club echoes — all the places you meant to go, all the lives you almost lived.
The palette is warm: browns, creams, faded pastels, the colors of memory after it has been handled too many times. Everything feels touched, worn, softened by time. This is melancholy not as despair, but as archaeology: a careful excavation of tenderness, longing, and the small, beautiful sadness of being human.
